Musk’s unwillingness to throw his team under the bus must certainly figure into the work his people do and the rapid advances following disaster. I had a boss like that. Once. Before the company was overrun with MBA termites.
I was going to crack back something like $.75 an hour, but Google says $3.60, more than I thought, although I am guessing the additional overhead of payroll taxes, health insurance, etc., adds a lot to the difference beteeen here and there as well.
How dare you suggest that every American family doesn’t need a 7 seat suv for the Mrs and short bed crew cab pick up for the Mr.
Your skateboard probably doesn’t really have 3.2hp. They’re probably talking about some sort of peak startup kw, not actual output. Or it goes 70mph? I suppose some do.
What’s that supposed to mean?
Most cities and towns have code enforcement officers. No one had to call for this to happen, it was visible for all to see, including code enforcement. There are lists of codes for everywhere you will live. I doubt that you will anywhere that will allow you to have an accumulation of non-running and unregistered…
Troy.
And I’m being a good sport because, about a month prior to this, I resolved to make some significant life changes, including digging myself out from all of these projects.
So this ordinance change anything; perhaps it moved my timeline up a bit.
Good job. Your neighbor’s property values thank you.
The USAF started planning to replace the B-52 while the paint was still drying on the last one out of the factory. The first attempt was the XB-70, which would have have cruised at Mach 3, but it was too expensive and in the age of ICBMs was considered obsolete. That didn’t stop them from trying again with the B-1A,…
It wouldn’t be cheaper. You’d have to start from the tooling and build the entire production line up. If you’re going to all that trouble, you might as well design a brand new aircraft, or convert an aircraft still in production. The 767 comes to mind.
The B-21 isn’t a replacement for the B-52, it’s a replacement for the B-2 and B-1. Much cheaper (though not cheap, of course) thanks to the lessons learned in the decades since the B-2. The B-2 is was so crazy expensive we simply couldn’t build enough of them, and the B-1 is heinously expensive to fly, so it will…
wooden ships in general dont fly
it would probably legitimately cost a shit ton more to build new ones. it would only even begin to make sense in the case they needed more planes, but for just strictly replacing them? Nah. Also keep in mind that almost everything in the B-52 (instruments, etc.) are 50+ years old and may be really, really hard to…
Shame that Cambodia was our ally and we accidently killed 10% of the population and then allowed the Khmer rouge to flourish. Gee - whodda known?
I forgot the link, which you’ll see in there now. A. few months back I covered the. controversy surrounding “right to repair”issues faced by the military. Check it out here: https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/even-the-american-military-is-struggling-with-right-to-1841531517
