Japanese voices with the setting of the game (based in the US in the fifties) would seem out of place to me.

shh. weaboo children that say “japanese is better” regardless of the quality of either.

Prompto’s English voice actor was bad? That’s news to me...

you can make a full english in the time it takes doom to reload after every death

I hope the Tachikomas aren’t in this if they are using the Kuze story. I always cry at that part.

The first car you see in the trailer is also the biggest mystery. I think it’s a late ‘80s Nissan Sentra, just modified with some sort of full-wraparound bumper thingie, sort of like a carnival bumper car.- Hong Kong Taxi with special effects.

The idea of staying true to what the future looked and felt like in the era of the original story is a wonderful trend. The recent film adaption of J. G. Ballard’s High-Rise is immeasurably more fascinating because it’s set in a future seen from 1975.

Batou drives something that looks VERY much like an Alfa SZ Zagato in the anime. These are cool, but hearing about the Alfa was one of the things that made me watch the original movie.

somehow very similar!

Tachikoma (originally, Fuchikoma) have been around since the very first issue of the manga. They’ve been integral to all the stories except the two Oshii movies, which had no Shirow involvement. Shirow loves his mechs.

I was going to comment how much I would be disappointed at the lack tachikomas but then I remembered there aren’t any in the ‘95 film and didn’t crop up until S.A.C. Well I can hope for the future since they are GitS’s droids.

That first car isn’t just a Hong Kong taxi?

Most important vehicle still Missing In Action:

There’s the SZ!

Why no nipples? America needs nipples! Now more than ever!

Jason, I love these types of posts. If you haven’t done it already (I searched, but couldn’t find anything), you should really check out the cars of Blunt Talk on Starz. While they are never central to the plot, the choices of cars, and their condition let you know that the people who make the show must be car geeks

The Spy Who Loved Me Lotus Esprit is certainly the more iconic of the Bond Lotuses, but I honestly prefer the copper-ish one from For Your Eyes Only just for visual appeal even if that one doesn’t also turn into a submarine.

I don’t think the cars are the chassis that guys are interested in exploring in detail.
