This is a dumb argument. Have you ever played a fighting game, on a serious level? Like gone to a tournament? When you practice a fighting game and become really good at it. Even if you focus on one character, there are skills that carry over to other characters as well. If someone is so good at the game that they win…
As someone else mentionned, it takes hundreds of hours to master a character in fighting games. Imagine learning 44 characters. Not only this, but imagine you random 3 characters that are super hard to use/win with while your opponent randomly gets 3 strong/easy to use characters.
