Its simple really. You’ve already stated most of what is true about adventure bikes. They are overbuilt and designed to do more than most riders would with them. The money you pay is for the over engineering that goes into the bike.

First off, we have no idea if he had an ebrake. If he did, he would’ve stopped for the truck after going through the gate and wouldn’t have driven off a curb. IMO it would be dumb to drive a car with no brakes any distance if he didn’t have the ability to stop immediately which it would seem like he didn’t

If that were really the case there’s no way I’d be driving around. Also a brake line should cause the whole system to fail. Typically the front and rear systems are independently plumbed to the master cylinder.

Yea sadly. If that’s the same color as the CBR the paint is pricey. 30 dollars a can for sunbeam white.

Oh boy I hope not. The CBR’s after 2008 all have replaceable panels including the tank. I really hope that is the case

There may be replacement plastics available from China soon. I’d sell the original plastics for a decent amount and pick up the cheap chinese ones to beat on.
