OK, one piece of information that might be useful in this case is the fact that some of these cars are not owned by Bulgarians.

I adore blue in cars. Didn’t really like any color on the M4 other than San Marino Blue. The whole thing really started with a Monte Carlo Blue S2000, although if I’m honest I always wanted an Alpinablau E38.

Since I’m in Zurich, Switzerland and that alone is kind of a head-start in terms of expensive cards, I’m only looking at 50km instead of 50mi (which would be ~80Km).

Actually here in Switzerland where there are lot of EMEA HQs for many multi-nationals, and there is a big US community of expats/immigrants, there is a strong presence of NA-market cars and also lots of people with US plates put behind the rear windshield. Also some Swiss are bona fide americanophiles (is that a word?
