MFW Jalopnik misses the joke, then starts talking about stocks 😂
Same thing happened with that awesome corvette ad that had a kid fantasizing about driving. Showed a kid flying around in a corvette, doing hotwheels stuff like loops in a construction tube. Sweet bit at the end where he is suprised to see a cool girl doing the same thing.
Buy to $60k cybertrucks, and weld them together to make a square truck.
In europe, if you sell less than 5,000 cars per year in the market, you don’t have to meet pedpro. Statistics or something.
Nice. I’ve been railing against the “induced demand” idea for years. I hate that our city planners use it as an excuse to get out of doing their job.
If Elon built a race track jalopnik would hate on it.
I lowkey hate jalopnik
Pretty epic tweet, to be honest.
Actually, it’s about a 50/50 split. Customers either go for the base model, or the fully loaded high end model, not much in between (looking at the used listings).
Yeah, my EZ-GO was $10k and did not have windows. (It does have metallic purple paint and ostrich seats, so at least there’s that).
Honda makes great cars.
Alternate take: I paid hundreds of thousands in taxes last year, didn’t get any stimulus check.
Hey, I used to live in SF, with no issues of charging a Tesla. I parked off-street, of course, to avoid window break-ins. My parking garage had free charging included with the $350/month parking charge (same as EV or otherwise). If you’re parking on the street in SF, you’ve got bigger issues than charging.
I don’t think it’s logical to assume Ford will be getting similar profit margins on their E-stang as Tesla does it’s cars. Tesla has more vertical integration from in-house sales, to in-house seats, to in-house tool and die, that will compound their margins over time.
Jalopnik hates to see people enjoying fast sports cars.
The original crosstour wasn’t mocked for trying something different... it was mocked for it’s terrible proportions. The execution of the design absolutely deserved being mocked. (contrast that with criticism for the Porsche Macan, which was mocked for trying something different, yet has really good proportions).
No, not nice lines. Some of the worst proportions of any car on the market at the time. It was mocked because of it’s atrocious styling.
Better hold onto that viper for life, then!
Huh? Who is “Them”? When was the last time you bought a $70k car, and did you not consider the cost then?
