Because of the novelty factor, which is all Samsung has going for it.

But we're past the days of simply expecting our technology to have good specs and work. We expect our technology to be well-designed, too. Apple, Nokia, and HTC get it. Samsung does not.

When people talk about build quality, usually they mean design. Which Samsung absolutely sucks at. I don't think they even have designers.

Ruggedness =/= good design. By your logic, the Motorola Defy is the prettiest smartphone of all time. (Though it is prettier than 99% of Samsung smartphones.)

Yeah, the Galaxy Nexus looks nice from the front. But it's total shit on the back. The design of the back singlehandedly ruins the phone. Ugh. If you looked at the phone only from the back, it wouldn't look out of place in 2005. Seriously. Samsung is the worst phone manufacturer ever, because they spend literally no

Why are you hallucinating Apple fanboys bitching about this? You get a grip, dude!

imo is actually the best IM client, though, on both Android and iOS. Not the prettiest on iOS (but quite nice on Android), but it's fast, and best of all, gives you push notifications for free. And with no ads. I don't understand how this could be profitable. They're probably stealing your data and whatnot. But it's

I don't understand the hard-on for American manufacturing.

That's not how the music industry works. This would only maybe work for indie artists.

Yeah! Like bloatware. They're giving it to you FOR FREE. How could that be bad?

If that's a Galaxy Nexus screen protector on top... then this phone is HUGE. My GNex is already borderline too big. This is even bigger?!

It looks like a Galaxy Nexus screen protector pasted on top. It gives you perspective of how gigantic it is, though...

A PenTile qHD display is only about 2/3 as sharp as a non-PenTile WVGA (800 x 480) display. So, the display alone is already enough reason to NOT get this phone.

I'm not sure what this means. Smartphones don't cost $2,000, on contract or off.

You do realize that 99% of the reason American carriers charge this much is because the cost to subsidize the phone is included, right? RIGHT? Do you really think the cost of the phone isn't included and that carriers eat the cost of the handset to benevolently sell it to you for cheap?

If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Jealous of the $2,000 price tag of the Lumia over two years on AT&T? I'm sure.

Jamie, I'm not sure why you're disagreeing with the European carriers' opinion when it's the exact same opinion as yours.

If you have nothing to contribute to the discussion, please don't. Simply calling people trolls because you disagree with their opinions makes you the troll.

I'm happy people are finally able to criticize WP7 instead of endlessly gushing over it, as has been happening for the past year and a half. Both Giz and The Verge are currently featuring negative articles about WP7.
