I've been living without a computer mouse for months now. It's called a trackpad. Now that I'm used to it, I can game with it even better than I can with a mouse.

Considering the "advances" (or lack thereof) in SAMOLED pixel density lately... I'm doubtful. Current SAMOLED displays all have around a 200-220 effective ppi: 4.3" non-PenTile at WVGA (i.e. SGSII) = 217 ppi, and 4.65" at PenTile 720p (i.e. GNex) = 210 ppi, taking into account the lack of a third subpixel.

I personally keep my phone in portrait mode 95% of the time, even when web browsing (I primarily stick to the mobile version of websites for an easier reading experience). But it all depends on what your usage is like. However, for someone with big hands, width is probably the most important dimension to improve

The only SAMOLED+ display for phones in existence that I am aware of is the 4.3" WVGA one on the GSII and Focus S. Everything else, including all 720p and qHD phone displays, are PenTile. Which sucks a lot.

iPhones and other Apple products are so ridiculously commonplace among young people nowadays that getting a Windows computer or Android makes more of a statement than any Apple product ever could.

Comparing diagonal dimensions between different aspect ratios is misleading.

qHD PenTile is less sharp than non-Pentile WVGA. Just FYI. But yeah, 800x480 on something so huge is horrible.

Oh... I did not know that. Wow.

I have no doubt that this will have excellent dev support, especially since HTC has promised to unlock all its bootloaders already. So rooting should be even easier.

Yes, pretty much. HSPA+ is an extension of UMTS (3G) that allows for some really high speeds. So, modern "3G" networks are much faster than 3G originally was, and I don't think the speed difference between HSPA+ and LTE is all that great. (I don't live in the US either!) HSPA+ is more like 3.5G/3.75G/3.9G than 3G.

Android phones are very high-maintenance, so if you want something that just works without headaches, get an iPhone or WP7. Android has come a very long way since 2010, when the Evo 4G first came out, but you should still consider switching back to iPhone if what you want is a consistently stable experience.

Yeah, don't even consider the Nexus. Besides the fact that it's comparatively super ugly and has last-gen specs, the screen... holy shit. Nexus's display has an effective pixel density closer to 200 ppi due to PenTile, while this Evo has a true >300 ppi display.

You're right, although some also do not consider LTE (as it is currently implemented in the US) "true" 4G either.

Don't consider a Galaxy Nexus over this! It's horribly ugly compared to this. Also, the display is horribly awful compared to this: the effective pixel density of the GNex display due to PenTile is closer to 200 ppi, whereas this one is truly >300. Huge, huge difference.

The One X has 32 GB. The One S has 16 GB. This article is wrong. See: [www.htc.com]

Unless the GSIII has a non-PenTile 720p display, it can't compete with what HTC has to offer. The Galaxy Nexus's display is really closer to 200 ppi because of the horrible, horrible PenTile layout. And I'm not holding my breath for such a huge technical leap from Samsung. Also, Samsung phones are horribly ugly

Yeah, but the GSII is horribly ugly. All Samsung phones are. I'm having serious phone envy looking at these new HTC designs compared to my Galaxy Nexus...

So if you accidentally hit the camera button while your phone is in your pocket, it will open the camera app and badly drain your battery?

I have used WP7 devices before, although admittedly not extensively. However, from my limited experience, I find the WP7 UI too gimmicky. At the end of the day, iOS's UI offers the smoothest experience, and it's no wonder almost every other platform (webOS, Android) drew heavily from iOS's interface for their own.

If you want something that just works really really well...... why not an iPhone? What about WP7 makes it better than iOS?
