For some reason it won't let me approve you without commenting. I tend to agree that they are moving towards "prosumer" products at the high end. From a business perspective, I understand it. But it is still heartbreaking.

Is there any particular reason you believe this?

If hardware prices are your main concern when buying a workstation, you likely don't need a Mac Pro.

My Jewel (Albertsons) cut back on the machines because people were photocopying discount cards.

That isn't a Sense problem, that is an HTC problem. The G2 doesn't have Sense. Carriers will force phone manufacturers to lock down the OS. The issues with Android version performance aren't really tied to the way the interface operates.

I don't think it is particularly complicated. It's just not pretty/fluid.

I tend to agree on Sense. If I couldn't use a launcher, I would prefer Sense over the stock experience.

The $10 plan is only available for feature phones, which cost less to subsidize.

I assume you mean off-contract (no phone subsidy.) Verizon has always been rather dickish about month-to-month. I doubt they change their policy and allow pure pay as you go at that price rate.

After you account for the phone subsidy, the 2GB plan is probably the best deal per gigabyte.

The linked article suggests that the $10 option is only available for feature phones, and $30 is the minimum for smart phones.

I thought Poipoider was a dolphin. If so, he should at least get an honorable mention.

I actually think the only way the joke could have been on them was if $3.14 billion was the winning bid. Then they would have paid $41 million more than was necessary, as the bidding was in $100 million dollar increments. It was a joke, while at the same time a binding bid. Google knew the bidding would go higher.

What does "either way" refer to? What are the alternatives? And why is the joke on them, if the bidding went way over their valuation of the property?

Lots of things. There are more than 6k in total. The media has been focusing on the interesting 4g LTE ones.

From TriTronics's website:

I really hope they don't. I would love a GPS collar for my dog, but I don't think I would buy one from a company where electrocuting the animal is an upgrade option.

Feeling sturdy and having a high build quality aren't necessarily the same thing. The touch screen grounding problem and the power button trace issues with the Nexus One were build flaws. The phone certainly feels sturdy, and it is, but there are still internal build quality issues. HTC cut some corners.

The June 1st numbers suggest around 10% of all devices run 2.3+, with new activations around 15%. Since newer versions of Android have ever increasing hardware requirements, and OEM's have to spend money developing individual versions of Android, there will always be a lag. In electronics, affordable and cutting edge

Your not knowing about the Xeon E5 chips is irrelevant, as they are slated for release in Q4-2011 & Q1-2012. They won't be out in time for the rumored refresh.
