I think there's a lot of merit to what is being said here, but there are a lot of things the article dismisses. Particularly in the final ranking, I think it's unreasonable to rank Episode III over VI, without mentioning the former's many weeknesses and the latter's many strengths.

Hey AV Club, where's the "Old Man Yells At Cloud" this article so desperately lacks?

It may be a cliched answer but I have to say Aquas from Star Fox 64. Aquas some how sucessfully does the opposite of everything that makes SF64 good.

I don't so much disagree with the directors on the list, more as I disagree with John Huston being excluded. The man was the first to make a film noir, based on the ideas of German Expressionism. With classics like The Maltese Falcon, Treasure of the Sierra Madre or The Asphalt Jungle I can't imagine why he wasn't at
