You’re right about the looks. It does baffle me why Chevy made the Bolt look so un-sporty. Maybe they were trying to attract those who would otherwise buy crossovers.

You have a point, but...
I actually have sat in a Bolt. I didn’t mind the materials so much, but the seating position was way too high. It almost felt like a minivan or a small truck (and this is coming from someone who daily drives a Leaf, which already has a higher seating position than most non-crossover cars.)
Yeah, the looks could be improved.
I think the Leaf is adorable! You gotta love those big, innocent frog eyes.
For most everyday driving, FWD vs RWD makes very little difference (although I agree, the Model 3 would definitely have the edge in any kind of competitive driving). Of course, the Model 3 is also supposed to be a bit quicker - 5.6 seconds to 60 MPH, vs 6.5 seconds for the Bolt.
They won’t be extinct for a long time, but we can at least cut down on the number of new ones being sold. And that EV infrastructure is developing at quite an impressive rate.
I have to say, I used to be really excited for this car. I stayed up late to watch the official reveal, I used a picture of it for my Facebook banner, etc...but, to be honest, what exactly is it offering at this point that the Chevy Bolt doesn’t also have?
Speaking of which, aren’t we long overdue for a Torchinsky article picking apart Cars 3 in every existential detail?
KITT was awesome!
YES! Somebody makes a Cars reference! (Well, Cars 2, but close enough.) I’m officially having a good day now.
Oh. My. God.
I had totally forgotten about this book! My childhood right here.
For me, the news here is that Hyundai apparently made something called the Azera.
Electricity is awesome!
Eh...I can tolerate them. At least they’re dark colored. If they were chrome, I’d probably hurl.
Hybrids are not EVs. A hybrid is just a regular gas car with an extra motor that maybe helps a little bit with the MPG. It’s not an electric car. Even a plug-in hybrid is a far cry from a true EV. The future is electric, but we won’t achieve that future until car companies actually take it seriously.
Shouldn’t the plural be Herbi?
