Especially for ladies, negotiating is a must. I negotiated my first salary—asked for $5K more, received $2K more. Less than 3 months later they bumped me up $3K more which was a godsend when I went to another company who refused to give me any higher than what I was currently making.

I've been doing this for 3 years and they have never steered me wrong. It's a great marketing strategy too, because when I finally have to
