An Endless Supply of Cynicism

It’s the political equivalent of being outraged at Colin Kaepernic.

Until I say something critical of Hillary Clinton. Then I go back to being the world’s biggest douche.

I smile at everyone I make eye contact with.

Check out this champ at a Trump rally today acting all brave and hitting protesters as they’re escorted out. Ironically, it was while Trump was inviting people on stage to explain how his supporters aren’t ‘deplorable’

Same issue with health/dental insurance. Most employer provided plans cover spouses. They’re priced to cover a single spouse. If they have to cover 4-5 adult+kids, premiums go through the roof, not just for the polygamists, but for everyone else. So either we change the entire healthcare industry, or we’re all paying

If everyone planned for worst cases, divorce lawyers and family courts wouldn’t be a thing...

I work at a university and there’s a Muslim student who’s obviously been the victim of such an attack. I feel terrible for her, but I also don’t want to walk up to her and be like ‘you poor thing.’ So I walk by and pretend I didn’t notice and feel like an asshole. Is there a right thing to do?

I don’t care how many people someone lives with. I care about how many of the people he lives with claim his medical benefits and social security checks.

Just think about social security for a second. Currently, if you were married for 10 years or more and get divorced, you’re eligible for half your spouses SS benefits. Their benefits don’t decrease. That means theoretically, 1 person’s SS could be paying for multiple people, but there’s a limited number of them based

People get upset about players taking a knee? This dude’s taking a dump...

Not even taking their hats off...for shame.

This could be cross posted to Jezebel, Gizmodo, and Lifehacker...well played

I wanted a Canadian to American dictionary...

Obviously there’s no hard rule to go by. But if 50,000 people want to do something that’s going to cost the rest of us billions of dollars to implement, then I’d classify that as overly complicated.

Protesters: “We were minding our own business when Ryan Lochte put a gun to our head and demanded money. We were like ‘meh whatver’”

Streaker: “I was minding my own business when Ryan Lochte held a gun to my head and demanded money. I was like ‘meh, whatever’”

You’re right. I automatically just think polygamy is 1 man multiple women because that’s so much more common.

Not things might get complicated, things WILL get complicated. And yes, that is sound reasoning. We avoid doing lots of things that are overly complicated.

I see it more from a practical legal perspective. The complexity of relationships grows exponentially. A few examples off the top of my head:

Presumably is polygamy were legalized, polyandry would be as well. Whether it would be socially acceptable or not is a different question. I read an interesting article about polygamy v polyandry in that it addressed some biological issues as well as societal:
