The Iris problem is the same as the Laurel problem on Arrow. When the series was created, the producers said “We need to have Iris/Dinah(Laurel) for Barry/Oliver.” but that’s as far as they went. They didn’t bother with trying to give the character anything to do other than be a plot device.

Fair enough! In my case it’s something that felt like a miss. It felt less like a statement of cultural evaluation and more of as a sex joke that didn’t quite land.

One of my very favorite movies in my adolescent and teen years was “Set It Off,” starring Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett (she wasn’t Smith yet). This feels like the comedic flip side of that very serious film. I can’t wait to see it.
