The problem is that the Democrats take their support for granted. Someday the support might not be there.
One reason it might be difficult for Bernie to get him message across is that the media isn’t covering him. Too busy writing about Trump.
My opinion was that it was patronizing. The articles explain in some ways why Bernie supports appear to do more harm than good with how they speak to others who don’t support Bernie. There are examples in the articles that point to policy decisions Bernie wants to deal with but about how those policies still don’t…
You sound like a Clinton supporter. They always accuse any criticism of her as being “bashing” or “attacking”.
Its not about shooting ourselves in the feet. I wasn’t a huge Clinton fan, haven’t been for years, but she can do the job and I think, from the door, there has been the sense that she was the only one who could beat whoever wins the Republican primary. After the awesomeness of the Obama presidency, no one wants to…
You’re welcome to sneer all you want, but that attitude isn’t going to win over potential Bernie voters.
Most people don’t know what is good for them, when it comes to making voting decisions that benefit their own socio-economic interests.
I think you’re right, he needs to get himself and his views out in front of the people who would usually not see them.
Hillary, mostly by way of Bill, has a level of credibility with black voters that Bernie hasn’t achieved. Policy statements aren’t everything; people are also voting for the candidates themselves. On average, black voters know who Hillary is and expect her to be a competent leader who’s aware of issues that are…
It’s almost like big business and mainstream media WANT you to disdain third party efforts...
it should never have been that close. Gore ran a shitty entitled lazy campaign against someone who had money and solid, if evil, advisers.
I have a lot of friends who normally don’t care about politics who are voting this time around because of Sanders. Though I am afraid that those same people who will show up for Sanders will give up if Clinton gets the nomination and not show up to the polls on election day. Hopefully the threat of Trump/Carson is…
From the numbers I’ve seen, the vast majority of the minority population that has heard of Bernie do support him. The problem is that a minority of the minority population has actually heard of him. It’s not a problem of people shooting themselves in the foot, it’s a Sanders Campaign messaging problem.
From the numbers I’ve seen, a good 70% of the minority population that has actually heard of Bernie support him. Unfortunately, it’s only like 30% of the minority population that say they’ve heard of him. It looks to me like he needs to change his messaging at least a bit.
I have always found this argument: that voters are “stupid” because they vote for someone other than who you would like them to vote for, really problematic. Its patronizing and its elitist (since it assumes that only you have seen the light and the rest of the people suffer in darkness)
Gore ran a laughly shitty campaign too. People forget that he ran as a moderate, picked one of the most conservative people in the senate as his running mate, etc. Something like 200,000 REGISTERED DEMOCRATS in Florida voted FOR BUSH. Why vote for conservative lite when you can an actual conservative?
I don’t want to get to excited about Bernie Sanders, because he’s got a 1/100 chance, but god damn I hope he gets the ticket. I also hope this election, being a presidential election, sends a tide of democrat voters to the polls, and creates a tide of Democrats in office.
