That’s just a lie or willful delusion. Their remarks were always more measured and nuanced, which makes all the difference when you’re trying to manage a rogue state without starting a war. That’s disingenuous. No one is suggesting that he’s a franchise quarterback or even, probably, a starter. Deadspin (and others) have simply been pointing out all the objectively worse but employed quarterbacks in the League, and wondering why that is (not really wondering).

I think that when he gets the job he deserves, they’ll quit commenting on it. It is significant and newsworthy even if you find it annoying.
