If Facebook gets rid of its news feeds, it would probably help clear up a lot of misinformation, or at least clue people in that stuff on Facebook isn’t actually news.

They should pass it anyways. Odds are Facebook and Google will eventually back down - it’s a huge market in California for news-driven clicks even if they have to pay some of it out in link tax.

Blocking external news links would be the best thing that Facebook could do for the world.
