I grew up around habanero pickled carrots that go on all kinds of things like tacos and Sonoran dogs, and MAN, they’re too much for me, but do I ever love them. I really love learning about the different pickles that cultures have brought to our experience. 

That’s strange because I worked there in the 90s when I was in high school and at that time used a fryer that was next to the French fries, it wasn’t until my senior year did we get the oven to bake them in and I agree the damn thing rarely worked right, most of the time it would torch the pies.

I worked at McDonald’s way back in the dark ages (2001-2003), and even then they weren’t deep-frying the apple pies, they came frozen and they were baked in the oven to heat them up and brown them. I don’t know what changed in 2018 that people are upset about, but it definitely wasn’t how they’re cooked.

We did this every year in my family and I do it with my kids now. I always write their name and the year on the box of the ornament if it comes in a box (like the Hallmark ones do). A lot of ornaments don’t come in boxes if you buy them at craft fairs so I try to write an initial and the year in Sharpie marker on it…
