Drag racing is the fake news of the racing world.

Sounds dandy on in theory, but drag races are short, boring, no one can actually take a line (i.e. they’re not racing each other), and they use a bracket system which empirically sucks.

I just turned up my TV.

Without a large vertical G component, that’s not going to be the limiting factor. Cornering speeds have historically been cause for reducing downforce, not Gs.

Yup, I’ve seen the Red Bull Air Race guys clip at 13 g (and receive a penalty, mind you, 10 is the limit) pulling half Cubans.

This. It’s the vertical component combined with the duration. It can become more of an issue at banked ovals with long corners.

Every other asshole on a blog has a lot of trouble with this concept these days. It’s motor racing, not an art show. Pick a different interst if you don’t like it, IMO.

It’s the WEC, not hairdressing. It looks like whatever Porsche determined to be advantageous aerodynamically.

Overhang looks to be at around the 1.0 m max. Hardly the first car to be.

June? Silverstone is on April 16, buddy.

I’m an industrial designer and I’ve been saying this for years.

I’m 40 and still open to being a car designer if someone will have me. I’ll give up when I’m dead. Biggest problem is finding job openings and/or recruiters finding me.

    This. Decades of size creep.

With or without quotes. There’s a bunch more before you hit modified road cars.

It takes miracle level acts to make not hate that song... that was indeed miracle level.

4400 lbs isn’t heavy enough. Make it 8800 lbs.

This is the greatest thing I’ve seen in 2017 thus far.
