At this point, I'm interested in seeing a FF game developed by almost anyone outside of the teams they have been using for the last several games.

The new Xbox and PlayStation are supposed to be 10 times as powerful as their predecessors. Ten times. Surely that is enough power to run an emulator on nearly 8-year old hardware?

Sony put a PS2 chip on the PS3 because they didn't have an emulator ready at launch. Later they had a software only emulator until they decided to patch it out of the system.
