Blackish covered this very thing recently as well:

I had an interesting thought yesterday and this article reminded me of it.

Making this especially ridiculous is that even at the time, a lot of people who knew Lovecraft were uncomfortable with just how viciously racist he was.

Just FYI, Armitage was the name of the protagonist in The Dunwich Horror, by the notoriously racist HP Lovecraft, in which the family scion turns into a monster and terrorizes the village. It’s one of the only Lovecraft stories in which the hero actually defeats the monster.

Speaking strictly as a guy who does computer security for a living, this is horrible advice. Your phone is much more likely to be physically stolen than to be exploited in this manner.

The idea behind “Find my iPhone” is that it not only locks the device but keeps it locked even after a wipe/restore, something no app could do (since the app will be wiped in the process). If you steal someone’s phone and they have this enabled you essentially have something that has to be eBayed for parts only

Is it wrong of me to think that the most obnoxious thing about this is that the “hackers” can’t be bothered enough to use proper grammar and at least SOUND professional?

Considering “find my phone” is used in my household on an almost daily basis I’m going to have to risk it.

That’s a perfectly reasonable opinion/preference to have. What I wonder about is these people who keep trying to drag race their Hellcats against Teslas.

You basically want to feel important and be a part of the process of the engine delivering power to the wheels? And hear loud noises while doing it? Understandable.

Seeing a Tesla anything drag race the first 10 times was interesting. Now it’s just tiring to see. It’s like watching someone in a exosuit constantly defeating professional boxers in matches. It just gets boring after a while.

Or they are suckers for punishment?!

Ummm you know you can just plug in a HHD to the USB on the XB1. I like that a whole lot better.

That’s how I say his name whenever I have to say his name.

And you had some very proud moments, Matt.

We voted with our wallets and ordered a FoST this weekend. Now the waiting game begins....

I can’t believe the situation is so dire with test drives on these things. I’m just baffled. I get that it’s rare, but it’s a freaking $35-40k car, and we’re talking about a grand total of six miles or something.

Except I’m willing to bet that: Focus RS costs $37k, Civic Type-R costs $29k, and RS3 costs at least $55k

If this only comes as a sedan, the Golf R and a chip makes more sense.

This now has me debating a scenario I’m unlikely to find myself in for quite some time: ATS-V or RS3?...
