@Panserbjørne: Actually, the US military constantly asks that people stop saying things like "militarized police force" or "paramilitary" because they say they do not remotely act like a regular police officers and some actions of by these officers taint the self-control that the military tries to maintain at all

@Meerkats: Actually, Nolan said in an interview that the team selected this song before Marion Cotillard joined the cast. that he always wanted this song for the kick. I don't think she was the first choice for that role.

OK, so I showed up here hoping to be encouraged to keep reading and I'm glad so many people are excited about this book. I'm having a hard time figuring out the world, and it may be partly because I'm trying to create a coherent picture but this is my first fiction book in years (that's not a classic) and I'm having a

@DarwinSurvivor: I stand corrected... I really meant to write open source slash free software...

@Weekstooshort: That is a steal! But I encourage my students to use open source software such as GoogleDocs, AbiWord or I used to use Lyx (does it still exist?).

@Bubarubu: This was a really neat tip to share. Thanks! Do you know Diigo? If so, can you say how both products compare? Just wondering. I still want to give Zotero a try!

I've been using Sense-Lang for sometimes with my students. It's a really nifty tool, but as he's making it more and more fanciful I'm afraid it also gets a bit more complicated.

@dgolant: I avoid the cheap stuff because of High Fructose Corn Syrup, and other types of preservative.

This is actually a brilliant idea. I was looking for a snack last night when I came home late for work, and instead went to the store to buy more stuff, even though I have a decently stocked fridge.

@binhdu37: in legal terms malice means planned.

@DirtyHippy: It's still a homicide (which means that a person was killed). But there are different types of homicides like other have said. Murder is considered a planned homicide. Manslaughter is homicide without malice.

Monsters vs. Aliens... Had to Google it... That's how much it affected me!

@mordicai: Found this for you. Praise The Google!

@Annalee Newitz: Thanks, Annalee! I'm a moran! I've been trying to catch up on my io9 reading (and failing!).
