If we’re losing trees, does it really matter what the cause is? Beyond forest fires make the problems associated with them worse?
“Earth” is a ball of rock utterly incapable of determining anything, much less normal. There is no magical balancing act built into the planet to protect life. Normal is defined primarily by the activities of its surface inhabitants and secondarily by outside factors, such as space rocks.
I wouldn’t go as far as wishing for human extinction, we can be positive forces of regeneration too, just look at permaculture, but I often do wish that the collapse of industrial civilization should come sooner rather than later for the sake of the biosphere.
How would capitalism between islanders have changed the central facts that led to this situation? The isolation is the central factor here, how they choose to interact economically with each other on the island wouldn’t change anything.
They could actually get away with sneaking a character in to a Kingdom Hearts game...
Can't speak for anyone else but that design for Vader is fucking awesome. His armor actually looks like armor and looks like it would properly accompany the bulkier fighting style he had to adopt after being injured in his fight with Obi-Wan
EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.
I have to hold-press each time I want to open a different Gawker link, because if I don't read the URL and choose to open it in a new tab, I guarantee I get a fucking different article because of that last-second shift EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.
Or the "load a site's main page on mobile and try and click on a story you want to read haha just kidding you idiot because the page shifted thanks to a 'sponsored post' popping right into the middle of the page," which is pretty neat, too
They really didn't need to pay anyone to get a drunk guy's opinion. Just read the comment section any given Friday night!
So he basically confirmed what we all knew, Kinja is a POS.
Well, it's also been thirty eight years since the release of Star Wars. If we look back thirty eight years from 1977 to 1939, there were numerous great films that year, but notably Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz which were the big ones in film history.
"Maybe my Lord will notice me now....! *blush"
Haha, I just watched a playthrough online as well. After playing Demon's Souls and hearing it was a spiritual successor to Kings Field I had to at least check it out. I just didn't have the means to really get hold of it and play it.
You know what people? Medieval eras weren't easy mode. The fact that even a grunt can kill you makes me love the game even more, because there is no "oh whatever, this is no threat". That's the beauty of medieval warfare, everything can be defeated.
Dark Souls > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls II
How do most of you rank these games? I have a big soft spot for Demon's Souls, but acknowledge Dark Souls to be the most well-rounded. Dark Souls II had the best mechanics, I thought, but boring level design and plot—and just-as-laggy PvP.
Totally agree, except, at least for me, someone who doesn't play that many games, it was definitely difficult. I doubt I would have made it through some of the boss fights without help from other players.
Still, to me the attraction is not the difficulty, it's just that it's a truly mysterious, spellbinding world to…
one of the best series of games ever made
A few of my own:
