Wowsers you’re so woke.

It’s almost like many of them simply aren’t very good writers...

I seem to be seeing other posts disappear. Interesting. Also, I’ve noted that coming back to the article allows me to star again the posts I’ve previously starred, as long as they aren’t the blue “you’ve starred this post” star.

Ever consider that.. well a LOT of the topic in the GMG network are somewhat escapist and entertaining and turning them into a waterfall of bitching about white people might not be wholly consistent with why the audience is there?

It gets pretty old to look at the sports, cars or game sights and only see mentions of Trump. They can talk sh*t just stop bombarding us with it.

I’m now very curious as to the mechanism for stars... On your post and that of Orlandu7 immediately following. He’s got a butt-ton of stars, and given the commentariat’s “normal” jump-on-the-outsider methods, I’m surprised there aren’t more shitpost comments trying to trash you.

Even among people who despise Trump and the vast majority of shit he’s done so far, it’s a little much to have nearly every single article derive into a political opinion when the topic isn’t political. Some people enjoy reading about sports, media, cars, tech, etc, as an escape from the political shit they’re

That is a part of the problem. Over saturation is a thing and this place used to be great because the different blog sections gave users an easy way to curb over saturation. But that doesn’t really work anymore and people have left in swaths because of it. Its not that you can’t talk about Trump, just when its over

That is my main issue. The author’s take is very often just a rant based off of the most recent thing they heard or a regurgitation of something without proper context or research.

Talk shit about Trump all you like, on Splinter. Why do Deadspin and Jalopnik need political subblogs, for example?

Gawkmodo has dozens of blogs, few of which stick to their original mission statement, with shrill politics sprinkled on top. It’s the worst kind of brand dilution.

It’s even simpler than that.. “keep your political opinions to yourself”. I don’t come to Gawker to read someone’s political opinions. I come here for news on games or tech, and the occasional discounted item.

I think he meant not being unreasonably BIASED moron. I hope Univision tanks hard

It’s all for *SHOCK* and **OUTRAGE** therefore it doesn’t need to be deep.

I might add that being a little more... equitable? with the ban hammer and maybe banning people who are ACTUAL trolls and shitposters, rather than those with reasonably different political views might help.

like I always say.
stick to the subject.
when in an automotive forums....STICK TO AUTOMOTIVE TOPICS.
off topic threads should be put in the Off-topic section of the automotive thread.

i think Ford is stupid.
so I don’t post in the Ford sub-section.
Tech blogs like gizmodo should stick to tech articles.

I had to catch a ride in Bosnia from some Dutch soldiers in order to make a flight back to Germany. We stopped at their FOB and I had to shit. Their latrine was 4 5 gallon buckets with toilet seats outside behind a hooch. No screens. Nothing. I sat down and dedicated myself to the task and 2 Dutch soldiers pulled

Your comment just amplifies the GPs post. I want to read tech news. I don’t want to read about Trump or Clinton or anything else related to politics. It’s not a left vs right things....it’s a “who put politics in my tech blog” thing.

It’s not about being anti-Trump but about injecting identity politics into every fucking article to the point of absurdity.

I hate trump as next as the next reasonable person, but the original poster is right, this place force feeds political bullshit into the most asinine of posts. Some of their tech experts seem to have zero familiarity with the products they review, breakdown, teach or preach about.

how else do they illustrate how woke they are though?!?!
