Well, this is just horrible. Those guys must be devastated. And his family. Goddammit. He was in the middle of a comeback. I was just watching his talk show yesterday. Sigh. Death is a fucking asshole. RIP.

Ratcatcher 2 and King Shark spent the movie trying to one-up each other on the horrifying-but-adorable meter, all while being friends.

Watched this with the boys last night. 18, 17, 13. And me. We were probably their ideal audience. Movie did not disappoint.

Another reason to love “Dennis” Villeneuve — for changing David’s life and helping to get him where he is today. David used the same adjectives I’ve heard said about Denis time and time again: “warm,” “tender,” and “kind.”

When I saw the casting for “Suicide Squad” I was like “hey Polka Dot Man was in the Galatikon music video that Brendon Small did with Jill Janus and Steve Agee is in the movie too? Wild.” Now I’m realizing he’s “That Guy” and although it doesn’t make up for beefing up Duncan Idaho, I can get behind Villeneuve casting

I worked with him on one of the superhero bits he did.  He was super positive and friendly to everyone.  He got the whole crew a little parting gift!  That’s a neat thing to do for a non-lead.  He was fun to work with.

The gendered part was their not even bothering to negotiate and butthurt response, which reads like the “Deflect to COVID” variant on the same response they gave Shonda Rhimes.

I just hope that Johansson, Kraskinski, and the other actors who are/will sue distributors will use this opportunity to highlight the plight of all content producers. I have a few films on Amazon prime, and it is frustrating how they keep changing the terms, paying less, altering the criteria, making it harder for

it’s weird seeing people trying to characterize this as big Disney bullying poor little Scarlett who was just minding her own business.

Well it’s Hugo Pratt’s character not Miller’s, and according to Wikipedia, the name is Andalusian slang for ‘quick hands’. I suppose in Italian if you’re giving directions, the shortest way is also the quickest (la strada più corta), but I have no clue about Andalusian. And not much about comics either. I only know

Yeah, just looked it up, and Frank Miller apparently introduced this location to the DC universe. So he gets the credit, not Gunn. It’s popped up in numerous stories, so it’s a regular thing.

Isn’t that also where the nuke was headed during DKR?

Corto Maltese? As comic book references go, that’s a pretty good one. Bravissimo!

Harley Quinn is some of the best DC on screen out there and King Shark is a lot of that

Ron Funches is the definitive King Shark for me.

His line reading on “Oh, a _human_ vagina!” just kills me every single time.

I tend to just haunt the comments section and not actually comment that often, but I wanted to extend thanks for posting the Ostrander/Yale treatment of Barbara/Oracle (as well as all the other back issue knowledge you drop in the comments routinely). I never read Suicide Squad (more into Marvel than DC growing up) so

That’s sexual assault.

Now playing

My favorite King Shark is Ron Funches depiction in the Harley Quinn show. He manages to wrap up the beastly, the idiotic, and the funny sides of the character into one charming package.
