Unfortunately they've resorted to CVTs to get there in all but the highest spec stuff. It's not a good transmission, especially in the lower-powered cars like the Crosstrek and base Impreza, unless all you care about is the MPG.
No problem. It is way too easy to get caught up in it when the topic is something like this. There's no friendly middle ground. Just people angrily positioned on one side or the other.

Who is left in the V6 game for midsize sedans at this point, though? Accord and Altima? That's a pretty specific target. Sure those are the other two most popular cars in the segment, but they're also the most loyal audiences. Much less chance of getting conquest sales from those cars.
