Typical Prius driver. They’re not very attentive to their surroundings unless there’s a truck or SUV in the vicinity, then they lose their shit.

I genuinely don’t understand people who hit something that large, which involves a noticeable impact, and a noticeable sound, and don’t bother to pull over and inspect their vehicle. ESPECIALLY if they didn’t see that large object behind them in the roadway.
I genuinely do not understand how people were able to keep…
Heavy running gear and aero.
Its aerodynamics and running gear. I dont think any of the boxy SUV’s you are thinking of run 32" tires. Not the 4 runner, not the G-wagon, certainly not the scion and Kia
“Officer, can’t you see I have to drive this fast? It’s an Alfa - either I drive at over a hundred, or it overheats and breaks.”
Not to mention how after topping out, it seems to pedal along at highway speeds until I looked over and it said 150mph
xD
I’m almost certain it is. There would be no reason to attempt it with a modified car because then it doesn’t qualify for the record. The Veyron SS didn’t actually set its record in stock form though. There was a period of time where it had its record revoked because Bugatti had removed the speed limiter to set the…
Shit, it looked boring at 130 on his slowdown.
My only question is was this a completely stock, unmodified car? Could anybody with the money buy one, find a long enough road and get the same results? On first glance the in gear acceleration in the video suggests that the gear ratios have been altered to help with top speeds. The thing that makes a Chiron (and the…
Is it just me, or does it seem like he still has pedal left on the 1st run? Speed was still climbing pretty good but the driver backed off. Why? Did he pass a marker that I missed that told him to start slowing down?
Why the fuck did they average it? As long as it’s not downhill or downwind, it hit 284mph, right? Or, is it a “turn it around and do it going the other way” thing to make sure we negate wind and grade as much as possible?
Nobody does 55mph on that road.
Damn that road must get boring at 55mph.
Interesting how the driver didn’t floor it until 5th gear or around 180 mph. You can clearly hear the turbos spool up at that point and the g-meter goes from 0.2 to 0.4!
And, HOLY SHIT, he hit 7th gear at about 228 MPH!
ok..... thats just ridicululous..... damn thing sounds like its barely turning over at 130mph.... most of the cars ive owned topped out lower than that
i couldn’t help but chuckle that the 200-260 mph time (about 13 seconds) was faster than the 0-60 time (about 16 seconds)
Exactly. I know many people (my gf being one of them) who will never buy something smaller than a mid-sized CUV. Besides, gas mileage is basically as good as many current cars (and better than cars from 10-15 years ago), there’s no downside so long as they’re rated for regular fuel. Gas could be $4-5 again and people…
I like what truckers do and flash their indicators to tell each other that they have room to pass/enter the lane. I do the same for trucks and other cars.
Top item : tires / rubber. THIS is why you need winter tyres. Not because they're any better at gripping on snow and ice (they are) but because all-season and summer tires are just plain shit on cold roads in cold climates even if there's no snow or ice.
