Can someone please explain to me why many states are totally cool with Stand Your Ground laws/using deadly force to “prevent death or great bodily harm” but this little girl faces life in prison for shooting someone who repeatedly threatened to kill his entire family with that very gun?

My Mom- in-law took everything out on Dad-in-law’s mistress, “she’s a whore, homewrecker, terrible mother, horrible human...”, but was so willing to forgive and forget with her husband that she more or less infantilized his behavior as a silly mistake. Like, she never got pissed. So weird.

I kind of read the exact opposite from this statement. It feels like Alexis’s brother was being very careful in his use of language and was very respectful of Alexis’s preferences/wishes.
