No, my parents gifted me with a divorce. Not only did my intimate relationship scars fade before I ever entered into one, but so thanksgivings and christmases. When my mom remarried, I ended up with 3 sets of grandparents.

When my mom said, “You’re father and I can’t live together anymore,” I was 8 and it was pretty much a “no duh” thing for me.

Counterpoint:

Thank you for saying this. As someone who has spent some time contemplating ending a relationship and worrying endlessly about what that would do to the kids, I appreciate hearing from people who say it was better to have them apart than together.

My parents fucking hated each other. As displeased as I was to have my life completely disrupted, even at 8 years old I knew they were better off apart.

It may not be that they were specifically attracted to the long hair, but as a bee keeper, I’ve noticed that when my husband has his hair long and a beard, and he gets in a swarm, they sting him worse because they get stuck in all the hair. I keep my hair short and am naturally sans beard, so it’s a non-issue.

Yeah, I really think that it goes against common sense that it would be easier to rehabilitate a pedophile than say, a drug dealer or a robber. Not that we should just give up on rehabilitating pedophiles, but to say they reoffend less when their behavior stems from a sexual compulsion?

Are they really less likely to reoffend? Or just less likely to get caught a second time? How many offenses will they commit before they get caught the first time?

Most disturbing thing to me?

My mom got me hooked on that show. It is the SHIT. Between the dessert porn and the hosts, I love it. And I find the overall tone of the show really refreshing - there is zero personality-based drama, no yelling and no tantrums, unlike on American reality TV.

This doesn’t surprise me at all. The Great British Bake Off is somehow the best show on TV. And I’m being serious.

If you love her, I highly recommend Burning Love which was my first introduction to her. She’s a major character in all 3 seasons and the show is hysterical.

Is it bad that I was expecting his reasoning to be that it meant no one in the office could hit on her? And that I’m only marginally relieved (but a great deal more offended) that it was “hur dur, the other women will be jealous and wrathful”?

I’m going to have to disagree with you on that one. It sort of justifies it. I’m not saying she should go free, but 10 years sounds about right to me

I say that if pursuing this calling helps her feel better, then we leave her be. She’s not likely to convince anyone of anything, nor harm anyone else.

Yep. Unfortunately sex slavery and rape have been around a lot longer than photography, videos and the internet.

I feel like a person whose introduction to porn was their rapist abductor kind of doesn't have the most level starting point for a conversation about the subject. But maybe that's just me.

The headline is a bit misleading. You should definitely experience living on your own in between living with roommates and living with a significant other.

I think Mary Louise Parker should play her. She has large brown eyes and very similarly shaped face and nose.
