I mean, I’m sure the actor in Dahmer is very attractive and charismatic. You know, with being an actor and all. Like, I’m sure the make up artists were tasked with making him look more shlubby not less.

Most serial killers wind up with groupies. And one needn’t be physically attractive to attain them. If I recall correctly, Richard Ramirez had ardent groupies, who would show up to court. I think it has to do with fame/infamy, power, danger, etc.  It’s definitely not rational.

The Hannibal books/movies probably caused a bit of this by promulgating a popular image of serial killers as brilliant sophisticates with a twisted but consistent morality, rather than the unhinged necrophilic fuck-ups they usually are.

Not even caved but went several steps further than needed.

It never mentions professors, it just says employees. All my college dorms had free condoms availble somewhere on the main floor. It seemed pretty normal. And it’s not as if college kids are known for being flush with cash.

I’ve been reading news about this movie for weeks...?.... months...? Seems like forever. I realized something kinda shocking today.

It’s clear he is mentally Ill.  His apology to the court rubbed me the wrong way because it seemed to be more about how he ruined his life and less about the life he took 

Damn, this is just... really sad. I guess we can be thankful he had a moment of lucidity long enough to not commit any acts of mass violence.

I don’t need to feel bad for 1950s housewives because I feel bad for present-day housewives whose husbands don’t feel that they should have to lift a finger to cook, clean, or child rear because they’re a “provider” and their wife is actually just laid up “eating bon bons” all day.
