I think it is very helpful to normalize having pronouns in your signature, so it isn’t immediately a sign of “oh gee, look at the transperson, always shoving their PRONOUNS in my face!”

Unless you’re marrying an officer, it’s a raw deal for women. Enlisted men don’t make that much, they move every two years, and you’re stuck being a single mom/spouse most of the time*. That’s why military wives are fertile ground for MLM scams. There’s not much career stability for a spouse.

I follow a very funny military wife on Instagram. Her account is a bit tongue in cheek. But overall, it seems many women *still* throw themselves at military men because of the housing, healthcare, pension, and promise of financial security.
