I still believe and always will. Life is complicated and horrible enough, why give up a cherished and comforting tradition from childhood. No harm comes from it and a great deal of joy does. Chronic tardiness in a person is just a passive/aggressive way of reminding everyone else that they are the most important person and they control everyone else in the situation. I was not having it and in the process freed everyone else in the family from it as well.

I have found my list of non-negotiable sides has varied by number of guests expected and are they bringing some of them? You are SO right about it being a good thing if you are rejected for having been vaxxed saving you a lot of hating your job/the culture. I am fully vaxxed but I still wear a mask, and would to an interview, and if they don’t show the same concern and precaution, I would not take the job anyway.
