When I listed my old standard shift car for sale, I thought that would scare off a lot of buyers, but, in fact, I had several people more interested due to that fact. It was gone within 24 hours of the listing and I had a few people who asked me to keep their number in case that deal fell through.

Give the owner a way to opt out of the dealership “offering” more, very expensive services to be done while the car is there. If I didn’t have to hear their up-selling every damn time, I would be a lot more inclined to take it in earlier.

Be very careful in the future to look for these signs early in a relationhip. We tend to be attracted to the same “type” so there could be another one on your horizon. Save yourself the pain of repeating the same patterns.  Good luck.

1-Know how to cook at least one thing so you dont starve.

So long as you are mixing up your scrambled egg recipe, the guy at the local Chinese restaurant told me to leave the salt out and add soy sauce instead. It was really good, though the eggs had a slightly darker tint (if looks matter over taste to you).

I am from Ohio and know for a fact that if you don’t haggle with the old men at the farmers market, they don’t respect you. Its not personal, its business and expected. Every time they see me, they smile and we have at it, its just part of the game.

I love his work, but I had to give up reading his books since I was having nightmares when I read them. He is a genius and/or a mad man.

Non-chlorinated bleach (regionally called “Dry Bleach”) is also great for use in hard/rusty water. We have a lot of iron in the well water locally, and it will quickly ruin clothing, but adding some dry bleach to your loads really stops or lessens that. It also makes your colors pop regardless of what kind of water…

I did that as well as wrote RETURN TO SENDER all over it, after I wrote void on the check in case it fell into someones hands that would try to cash it.

One came for my mother, with the mark ‘DECD” after her name, so they had to know she died. I wrote void on both sides and took a heavy black marker and marked out the name of Tonald Drump on the check for good measure. She hated him, so I knew she would want me to do it.

One of the bright spots of divorce was losing that damn apostrophe.

For really important stuff, in addition to backing up to a separate drive, I email it to myself at one of my various email addresses. Its either in my sent file or my received file and using 2 of my own email addresses ensures it is someplace. Low tech but highly effective.

I would also like to recommend that you pick someone who is capable of making decisions. Some folks simply cannot make decisions, let alone in a crises situation where they may be called on to make life and death decisions. They may love you and care about you, but if they freeze under pressure, it wont be a help.
