I am sure their recruiters are doing just that, but they cant really advertise that or they would have a lot of people trying to hack them. Hiring the kid takes it from a lose/lose situation to a win/win (and a big fat bonus for a opportunist recruiter so a win/win/win). 

Don’t advertise it, but, also don’t let prime talent slip into someone elses hands. I would take this kid chocolate bars, and hell of a contract.

Always hire the best, pay them well, and then LET THEM DO THEIR JOBS.

I would completely agree. As a kid I spent a couple of days very slowly going horizontally then vertically meticulously across my Etch A Sketch screen just to clear it so that I could see inside and how it worked. I never forgot how cool it and how it sparked my curiosity and imagination.
