I remember these rumors. There was one in Starlog saying something to the effect of Lucas was developing a new technology to have the Millennium Falcon 'fly off' the projector screen and a 3d image of the ship would fly along the projector's beam.

Interesting. But I'm not crazy about having to eyeball your drawings, especially if you want something very precise. Love it if you can do a vector drawing and load it into the computer and have it cut it.
