Oh yeah. My college was sort of a feeder school for a state university med school and a lot of my idiot friends became doctors. They managed to study when no one was looking. They never missed a party or an opportunity to act like an idiot, but still managed to wake up early and hit the books.

I actually had that cup for years and years! I think there was a set of them.

Good point. What a shame.

For sure. If they'd come out and done even the Heath Ledger Joker, people would have been freaked out and confused. Jack made it palatable by basically being charming psycho "Jack" with garish make-up. Still a long way from Cesar Romero. Gotta say, it was still pretty creepy for me as a youngster.

It is slight, but it's also an '80s action movie blockbuster, so that kinda goes with the territory. He got a lot more leeway on the sequel. Imagine any filmmaker getting the reins to a franchise like Batman now and getting to throw in the kind of weird shit that's in Batman Returns. Imagine the executives seeing

Noises Off with all Batmen

I like BR and TDK, but it's ALL ridiculous. BR just embraces the ridiculousness, while TDK takes it seriously.

It's very old school in that way and I gotta say I kinda dig that aspect of it. Lots of matte paintings and pre-green screen technology. At the time I think it may have been the biggest production in Pinewood Studios' history, using almost the entire lot (which is almost 100 acres). Makes me miss the Tim Burton of

I always wanted Keaton as Ray Nicolette to pop up in Justified in his FBI t-shirt.

He's always seemed content to do what he wanted to do (or didn't want to do). I believe he took time off to be with his son for a while, which was not a great career move from an agent's stand point, but it all seems to have worked out anyway.

Was he having a physical affair or just texting? I feel like there's more to that whole storyline than meets the eye, and possibly Moffatt and Gatiss want us to think more happened than really did. The stuff they did show was pretty strange.

The best part was always the Edward Gorey animation and now that's been cut to smithereens.

I remembered it was before Syriana, was just talking about his track record being less than stellar.

Traveller :)

He sort of left behind the pop music soundtrack for Grand Budapest Hotel, right?

I don't think it's a coincidence that his best directorial effort remains the one that starred Casey.

This is pretty accurate. Shutter Island is also a fun little pulpy read. He's not going to be mistaken for Chandler or Macdonald or Ellroy any time soon (and I'd take his friend Pelecanos over him), but he did some good stuff. I think Darkness, Take My Hand is probably my favorite of that series. I could never tell if

Certainly not worse than American Hustle's '70s Time-Life compilation soundtrack.

I think it's good old fashioned Botox. His face looks ironed.

It is a very pretty city, but the islands off the coast are really the best part of that area. I think Affleck has a house in the area because his dad lives there.
