The line about Kabbalah not working in 12 was pretty great. At the time I was convinced it was a dig at Ashton Kutcher.

Underrated movie

Totally agree. I hated the "full bullpen!" moment from last week's cold open.

Is that mayonnaise? Or sweat?

I felt the same way. The grades should be switched.

Yeah, I heard that and was surprised as I figured she was the wealthier one. Not sure why I thought that, as he does tour a ton and has a whole lot of songs licensed for movies/TV and she really didn't have anything going on for years except Tangled.

I think it was pretty good but he should have kept it as a limited run vinyl only release as he'd originally intended. It got hyped up and I think he started thinking it was more than just a goof and it bit him in the ass.

Glyn Johns didn't produce Gimme Something Good, he produced the album before that (Ashes & Fire).

I don't think Kubrick was terribly interested in the same things King was interested in, but he was interested in the logline—a man becoming homicidal in a haunted hotel in the middle of nowhere with a boy who has telepathic visions. Some of the best adaptations out there barely resemble the book they're based on. I

Google "Stanley Kubrick's Boxes" and I believe that's it.
Right. I believe his original idea was to make a pure horror movie that would closely resemble a nightmare but he realized he needed a narrative. I think he read The Shining and realized a lot of what he wanted to do in a horror film was in the book and he could

Yeah, his shirts were almost blousey. He also totally rocked the suit with a t-shirt look that I still associate with Regis Philbin. Hard to find good evidence for this because almost every google image is a screen cap of him shirtless.

It's interesting, however, that even when he's technically faithful, it often seems like he's interested in other themes than the author was, or at least he adds additional themes. Barry Lyndon is like this for sure. Not sure if you've seen that documentary on YouTube about his house and all his archives, but there's

Weber may have the MOST '90s look of all time when he was on Wings. Floppy long hair, wardrobe all billowy shirts, pleated pants, ugly ties and lots and lots of beige, sometimes swapped out for a sweater vest with a t-shirt underneath and dad jeans. Not that it's his fault, he did a great job, but man that was a bad

I knew the show was at the point of no return when they had some flashback to when Perry's character first started on the show and to denote he was young, he wore a backwards hat in every scene. For some reason that always struck me as so incredibly lazy and cliche that it became hilarious.

I dunno, he seems to really hate Nicholson's performance.

To be fair he probably thought, "who would compare the guy from Wings' performance in a TV movie directed by the guy who did Critters 2 to the performance of one of the greatest film actors of the 20th century in a film directed by one of the greatest filmmakers of the 20th century?"

Eastbound and Down's pilot is one of the best if not the best episode of the series in my opinion.

I remember one critic saying, "if he wants to make a behind the scenes show dealing with current events and politics, why not make a behind the scenes show about a news channel?" Welp, Aaron must have been reading that review.

I think Kubrick more often than not used source material as a jumping off point for ideas he already had stewing than saying "I MUST adapt this book." See also: Dr. Strangelove, based on a thriller novel Red Alert. The major exception being Lolita (and maybe Clockwork Orange?).
