I think the difference is the Travel Channel made him concentrate on food and the travel aspect and he would insert his commentary where he could (he's actually said that there were requirements of how much he had to show food/eat every episode); with CNN, he has free reign to explore the socio-political climate of

Sometimes I think if he'd been born in a different era he might have been a poet instead of a stand-up.

Indeed, but it sounds like it was going to be kinda bad

Yeah, I posted a little about my experience with the book club, too. Fascinatingly intelligent guy. Also seems very religious, or at least has a very strong belief in God.
Tragic about the kid dying in his home, although I immediately cut to Norm coming home, and saying "Holy lord!"

I was a follower of "Norm's Book Club" on Twitter before he shut it down. A lot of people joined initially and dropped out after Norm started earnestly discussing ALL THE KING'S MEN and retweeting everyone's thoughts (and people realized this was a for-real book club). What I gleaned is that the guy is extremely

If Ed Harris has been going for 30 years, I'm guessing it's at least 40-50 years in the future.

I 100% think the showrunners are trying on a meta level to implicate the audience in the bad behavior these guests are engaging in.

Wasn't there some line in episode 1 when James Marsden is overhearing the guests talking and the one guy says he took his family the first time and the second time he went "straight evil" or something like that? Makes me think there must be "family" packages and "adult" packages.

I'm wondering if the Westworld creators are under a veil of secrecy that outsiders know nothing about and the innerworkings are completely confidential to the point where no one has any idea how they make the hosts and he wants to find out.

Anyone else feel like Ed Harris is going to turn out to be a senator or something? Is that too on the nose?

I've thought about the shrinking, too.

I also get the feeling that the narratives change however often (every year? every few years?) in the same way television seasons do, and maybe the Mexican town played a bigger role in earlier "seasons" than it does this season. Does that make sense?

I had the same thought.

Ah, forgot the actress's name.

Blackish, the mom is a doctor. Frankie's jobs are all full-time. If she's had any part-time it's in addition to her full-time.

That's a good call. Of course, two of my favorite '90s scores (1999, but still) are by electronic artists—Fight Club by the Dust Brothers and The Virgin Suicides by AIR (although that's a pretty analog production, owing more to Pink Floyd than electronic music).

The sad reality of Hollywood is that they're almost certainly not going to get someone actually unattractive/plain to lead the movie. But they could ugly up an attractive person just enough (by Hollywood standards) to make it vaguely believable.

They've also covered The Canon podcast which he co-hosts for Podmass maybe a month ago. They should do a GJI piece about it probably. I'm not blaming them for not covering it, but I am somewhat dismayed at how few people on Film Twitter have brought it up, although I think Matt Zoller Seitz got the ball rolling with a

I think even Patrick would be like, "Donald, show some class."

I don't think it's that outside the realm of possibility they'd post about Faraci. He hosts a podcast that Podmass covers and he's a well-known internet presence. He's not Gabe Toro, in other words. That said, I don't think there's some conspiracy as to why they haven't posted about him, just saying it wouldn't
