Oh sweet Jesus I wondered how long a Call of the Wild has been in the works since the CGI got good enough. People realise this isn’t 8 Below, right? A true to the novel Call of the Wild will feature, like, Watership Down levels of animal on animal (and person on animal) ultra violence.

Learning to live by myself for the first time was definitely challenging, but I got to love it pretty quickly.

There’s a new revival in preview stages on Broadway currently (I think), that has been explicitly updated to now. The choreography is new too. *clutches pearls*

It’s been how many years now, and it’s still one of my favourite TV shows.

See, I totally used to feel like this. But now I feel like spinach ricotta lasagne, or pumpkin, pine nuts and blue cheese lasagne is its own special thing.

Rice and noodles (except for konjac noodles). I was diagnosed diabetic last year so have had to go cold turkey on basically all carb-heavy foods, but it’s been losing rice and noodles that has been hardest for me, because Asian. But on the plus side I’m used to noodles with chewy textures so have not found konjac

Lots of restaurants in the Chinatown in my Australian city has definitely been impacted, both by drop off in patronage and in generally being thrown into chaos because owners and/or staff took a badly timed trip home and now can’t get back if they’re not full Australian residents. :(

I’m having vivid flashbacks to the boyfriend who was a professional chef and as his seduction power move early on made us a dinner of lobster ravioli from scratch. And yes we were super in love for a long while but also yes he turned out to be a massive alcoholic and coke head.

Waiters at slightly more fancy restaurants have sometimes seemed to find it a bit weird that I walked in with the plan to eat alone, ie didn’t get stood up or have a friend or date cancel, etc, and that I sometimes order 3 courses (either entree, main and dessert or two entrees and dessert because the entree menu

In Australia our McDonald’s has the McMuffin but not a biscuit. Does a McDonald’s biscuit taste like a real home baked biscuit? I do know what those are, as someone from Alabama made me sausage gravy and biscuits once.

Thank you. We are not human shields for the less stigmatised members of the community.

Dear Muggles: Please stop thinking of us as a human shield to use as a buffer for socially acceptable women against creeps and monsters. Because that is a super fucked up way to think about other people, which is what we are.

Something I appreciated about Wurtzel, and she specifically covered in “Bitch”, was she acknowledged that white, and conventionally beautiful, women get more attention and sympathy when it comes to mental illness. The other Wurtzel piece posted here a couple of weeks ago covered this, but people tend to have time for

I only like (actually I love, could eat my own body weight) it raw, gravlaxed or cold-smoked. Applying heat creates a smell and texture I am just not into for some reason, even something as mind as hot-smoking.

FWIW to the people with concerns about this book’s lack of diversity, stuff like this can be the pretty fascinating/entertaining for food/baking nerds from other cultures. I’m Asian Australian and I fucking love this kind of thing, like I love the old school CWA recipe collections here in Australia.

Oh wow. Dairy AND tomato on the car upholstery. D:

Not technically bad in the cooking but a mortifying social disaster - I was having people over and had a brain fart and forgot someone’s new girlfriend was vegan and forgot to veganify the meal. Everything had meat or butter and the dessert was fruity creamy. I remembered way too late, just before people arrived. I

Florence Pugh got nominated for Amy in “Little Women”??? Is this the thing where the Academy goes “Sorry we didn’t acknowledge your stellar work in that other thing last year so here’s a nomination for some random thing you did this year”, because “Midsommar” was a horror movie and therefore not supposedly worthy of
