That sounds about right to me. If that's the case I imagine it will make more of a PR difference than a games difference. That is to say, if you want to make a "real" game you'll need a publisher but if you want to self-publish you can create games or apps for XB1 (using the Windows OS side), Windows 8 and Windows

Nailed it. I'm sure Sony didn't plan to take out backwards compatibility in order to get the PS3 price down but they did it because consumers wanted a cheaper model. If consumers vote against a bundled Kinect with their wallets, Microsoft will drop it despite their comments to the contrary.

I do wonder if this is more reactive or proactive on Microsoft's part. Self-publishing for Indies has been a pretty buzzing talking point lately.

I'm imagining that this will be a shared "app" marketplace with Windows 8 and Windows Phone - kinda like a better PS Mobile. If that's the case, I wonder if devs will have access to the gaming OS or just the Windowsy/APP side OS.

Or this:

Where'd the rest of his body go?

I've been listening to the Bombcast for a few years now and Ryan always brought so much fun and humor to the show and has since become one of my favorite follows in Twitter. It's a damn shame and he's left us far too early.

From what I understand (and I'm not a big Android hardware guy) is that it was outdated before it came out. Around the time it was announced it was already underpowered compared to a lot of other devices.

Recommended solely for the screen cap from Happy Endings.

I think for me it's just personal preference but I don't see anything coming in the rest of the year that appeals to me more than some of the games that have been out in the first half of this year. This whole year of games is shaping up to be a good one.

There certainly is a lot of good stuff on the horizon. It's a good time to be into video games.

I wish I could play that game and have an opinion but all my gaming funds are going into the next-gen savings pot.

Just to be clear I'm not asking this to be adversarial but what "really good" games are you referring to?

The "eyes" have it!

I'm okay with him liking and even favoring the XB1 to some degree as long as MGS doesn't become an Xbox exclusive. Go ahead, add Kinect stuff - doesn't bother me one bit. I just want to be able to play the core game on my PS4.

Didn't it always have a tentative 2014 release?
