I didn't say they had the servers. You'll notice that I mentioned that they could partner with someone. I doubt Sony could compete with Microsoft in the server department without a partner.

It will be interesting to see if both are capable. Sony hasn't been overly strong with their infrastructure and I feel like if Microsoft backs down on the restrictions any time soon it will be seen as weak. I think Microsoft is really just taking the bullet of being first to embrace the way media ownership is going.

This could really be a great generation of games with awesome hardware with unique features. The competition between Sony and Microsoft will be great for us as consumers.

I'm not the first one to post this but every time I see the Xbox One I think of this image:

There will likely be give and take for both systems. Current rumor is that the OS on Xbox One will use substantially more RAM than that OS on PS4. With the faster RAM as well you could see situations where the visuals and loading times on PS4 version of a game edge out the Xbox One version of multiplatform games but

I wonder what kind of traffic will go to and from the Xbox One and the cloud servers during games like say, Titanfall. Here in Canada we have bandwidth allocation limits. While I doubt there will be enough traffic to be an issue with many people's 20-60 GB/month cap, it will be interesting to see how much bandwidth

As a Microsoft rep said, it's not a sprint. I've been firmly in Camp Sony since the PS1 and I don't think you're an idiot for having the long-view. At this rate, Sony will start the race well - likely ahead of the Xbox One - but what matters is the install base and the software attach rate one, two, three years from

I doubt there will be much of a difference. Just because Sony isn't advertising "cloud" features doesn't mean that the PS4 can never use such technology. Shuhei Yoshida of Sony says "of course" the PS4 can offload calculations to remote servers source. Microsoft's "cloud" advantage doesn't come from the Xbox One

How did people not see this coming? The slide from the Sony presser with KH3, FFXIV and FFXV pointed out that FFXIV was exclusive with no indication by the other two games. If they WERE exclusive, Sony would have said so last night.

I think KH3 and FFXV are multiplatform. They specified FFXIV's exclusivity specifically. If either of the other two were exclusive, they would have likely said so during the presser since that would get the most attention.

Even though I know most of what I loved as a kid is actually crap, I still maintain my nostalgia. At the same time, when someone like Micheal Bay drastically changes something like Transformers, that doesn't bother me either - perhaps partly because I know that directly translating the original into a modern movie

I'm not saying this is you iluvmyveedubz, but I'm tired of people saying their childhood was "raped". A) not a term to throw around lightly and B) has anyone gone back and watched the Transformers cartoon lately? Our childhood wasn't the blissful wonderment we like to remember it as.
