People forget how widely influential Tim Burton’s Batman films proved both within the cinematic medium and pop culture because most were similarly deconstructive/satirical and only a few were adaptations of popular/well-known properties.

“Two heroes meet, fight, then discover true enemy” is a well-worn approach to a superhero crossover, though I always liked the variation in Spider-Man in which he and Blade battle over saving vs killing Morbius, the Living Vampire.

Directed, acted, and shot “wonderfully” still excludes the writing, which most certainly lacks.

I personally waited much the film for the neglected husband and/or abused son to commit suicide. There seemed such a clear thematic arc around grief and mental illness beginning from the obituary in the very opening that referenced schizophrenia to the mother mentioning during the grief support group that both her

The issue is that Hereditary was clearly building a narrative around themes of grief and mental illness only to toss it all aside in favor of generic horror genre archetypes that just weren’t appropriate to the first two acts.

I just want to further the sentiment that the scenes you listed were not scary. Saw-like disturbing, sure, but not scary, and totally at odds with the tone and themes of the film’s first two acts.

Familial grief and mental illness were exactly the horrific and terrifying themes we wanted to see properly executed.

I actually very much enjoyed the first two acts because it seemed to be building a narrative around grief and mental illness while any paranormal/supernatural elements were largely ambiguous.

If you defended Clinton and the Clinton Foundation than you have no standing to argue against Trump and the Trump Foundation. Corruption is non-partisan.

This in no way excludes Franco and his fascist forces having committed their own crimes.

More primary election voters of Sanders voted for Clinton in the general election than did Clinton primary voters for Obama in the general.

Progressives brought this up because we rightly knew that if Clinton were to become nominee this would confirm and affirm the Democratic Party’s support for tacit corruption, establishing precedent that would make it a non-issue for Republicans if Trump or any other Republican candidate were to do so.

What was the last progressive act done by the California government? Jerry Brown has been governor how many times and yet not once has a single-payer bill reached his desk. The entrenched Democratic Party machine seemed to have no difficulty managing this while Schwarzenegger was governor.

Probably because the U.S. broke their promises first.

You sound like the Republicans when President Obama was negotiating peace with Iran and Cuba.

Do you know anything about gorillas? It’s not exactly easy to “enrage” them.

Considering a gorilla has intelligence equal to that of a human then it very much was murder of a sapient if not sentient being.

Yes, because only white people care about animals or the environment, and only white people are vegetarian or vegan.

Where is it stated that these activists believe humans do not deserve healthcare while animals do?

Did you watch the Treehouse at all? This game looks the furthest from “identical.”
