I still think the way to reintroduce Coulson is for him to show up on a viewscreen talking to Maria Hill/Nick Fury, and have the Avengers look at each other apoplectic that he’s actually alive, and when asked about it, Hill/Fury just looks at them, sighs/chuckles and says “It’s a long story”.
