I dont think the first theory fits quite right, simply because of the VERY FIRST 10 seconds of the demo. It fades in to the boy playing with 2 toy statues (one is clearly depicted as Thor).

The boys first line is also “(crashing sound) that dull hammer doesn’t scare me...”
