The 2 DS games were ported as “cutscene movies”. The 3DS Game got an HD remake for ps4 and will be included in KH 2.8. Just to make that clear.

Honestly, I would recommend playing the first one and the second one, before returning to DDD. They are not that loaded mechanic-wise and maybe they’ll even make you understand or care for the story.
