Oh good god, Beasts Of The Southern Wild. To quote Roger Ebert, I hated hated hated hated HATED that movie. Quvenzhané Wallis was terrible. Flat line readings, in voiceover, no less. A terrible story that basically celebrates ignorance. Night Of The Lepus-quality special effects. A ridiculous half-assed plot that

It's a musical about child prostitution!

It's Titanic even being nominated in a year that had Boogie Nights, The Ice Storm, The Wings Of The Dove, and The Sweet Hereafter.

It literally ends with a train wreck.

Oh, The Reader. God, that was vile, offensive tripe. HOW did that get nominated?!?

At the time of the 2005 film year Oscars, I hadn't seen Brokeback Mountain but I had seen the odious Crash. So I couldn't exactly get into the Crash versus Brokeback debate, but I felt that ANY of the other films (Capote, Good Night, And Good Luck, or Munich) would have been a better choice than Crash.

Nor was Jonah Hill particularly Oscar-worthy in Moneyball. Still a baffling nomination.

What's left out of this is that he reportedly (The Hollywood Reporter was the source, I believe) beat out Michael Fassbender, Hugo Weaving, and Joel Kinnaman for the part. That is what I find to be unbelievable.

I had already seen the premiere—minus the (anti?) climactic LSFYL—via Facebook so I tuned in for just the last 5 minutes and Untucked.

And just what is the scarf budget for this thing?

In all seriousness, this sounds incredible. The late-60s/early-70s is one of my favorite periods in film history, and Robert Evans' life is a treasure trove of insanity.

The characters on Girls talking about Rent. Talk about things being overrated in their time.

Harvey Weinstein has been holding Grace Of Monaco hostage over final cut. One would think that all of this release date moving meant something was wrong with the film.

Throw a bone to Faxon's Ben & Kate scene stealer Lucy Punch and we're golden!

After watching Looking and Chozen, I really, REALLY miss Max and Happy Endings.

Adding to the questions about diversity and an accurate representation of San Francisco, I'm wondering if there will be an HIV+ character on the show, considering just about everyone I know in San Francisco knows at least one person who is HIV+.

Weekend is excellent! Check it out. It's streaming on Netflix.

Was watching this with a house full of bears and the 'portly' comment didn't go over too well.

Totally off-topic, but Jesus. H. Christ., AV Club, why is this ad showing up on this review?!?

Most unbelievable moment: That Felicity, a techie, would choose to use a Windows phone or have Windows 8 on her personal tablet.
