“...and now a global nuclear exchange is all but unthinkable.”

If Trump does nothing else in this election, I hope he mortally wounds political correctness.

Once Assad leaves, and the new guy is in place, who will fund the “Marshall Plan” for Syria?

There’s a video which shows the Major and her group standing together in front of a tent in a compound, when a motorcycle comes around the corner, rides right into the group and then the bomb goes off.

The New York Times’ article used the word “chilling” twice in introducing their article. Once in the headline, “1950s U.S. Nuclear Target List Offers Chilling Insight”.

my-oh-my, designed with drawing boards and slide rules. The Skunkworks guys were damn good airplane designers.

a coffee cup salute

Putin considers his Mi-35MS and extension of his .... nevermind.

Why doesn’t the Air Force create a warrant officer, mirroring what the Army, and particularly Army Aviation, has and train and promote the enlisted who want to do the job. Seems like a win-win - the Air Force still has officers flying and fighting RPVs and the enlisted ranks have a new career path.

well said. Thank you.

One thing the Russian/Eastern European design bureaus - Antonov chief among them - know how to do is build aircraft that don’t need thousands of feet of pristine concrete to land and take-off.

about damn time somebody in Washington pulled their head out into the daylight re: the LCS.

Minehunting, counter piracy, drug interdiction, anti-submarine warfare.

since the LCS has no armor and has one large caliber gun and the rest are crew served weapons, the National Security Cutter is a MUCH better choice to perform the role that the LCS was meant to undertake.

Dramatically compromising the handling, range and speed of an aircraft for supposed stealth is just stupid.

pictures in this post give a much better perspective of the size of the “box” on the Zumwalt. Wow.

or why not create a super-cooled heatsink? Put the heatsink in a liquid nitrogen chamber, inject new LN as needed to keep the heat down and dump any vapors out through the exhaust.

“...death throw of the fighter pilot culture...”

sort of the F-150 of military aviation...
