I don’t blame the coke for that scene being written, but I do blame it for that scene making it into print. He probably honestly believed he was making some profound metaphorical shit and the coke clouded his judgement of the fact that it was jarring, out of place and creepy.

The blood oath becoming blood brothers/sisters fits so much better than the weird sex scene in the book. It seems more like something kids would do and that it would hold a much stronger connection emotionally for a kid.
