I think one of reasons that we all have the reaction “but I see these all the time!” Is that they’re one of the most visually distinct cars on the road that sold in decent numbers (I think 100,000 is decent?) I can recognize one from a long ways away without thinking about it. They’re weirdly iconic.

I don’t know- myself of and four friends spent a night sleeping in a Peugeot 206. (Very, very cramped) We left the windows up and when I woke up, all five of us were making really disturbing gulping noises trying to suck down air.
