Apparently, you don’t understand the analogy. A gun is a tool in which to protect myself from harm of another. A fire-extinguisher is a tool in which to protect myself and home from the dangers of a fire. Although, I don’t fear either situation to happen. I am, however, prepared for the situation if it arises.

Our local code (Indiana) does not mandate it to my knowledge. I have it totally in case I need it. By your example alone this makes me fearful and paranoid of a fire. Also, not an ABSOLUTELY GOING TO HAPPEN.

Why do I have a fire extinguisher in my house? I do not fear a house fire, nor am I paranoid that it will happen. But the risk is still there. I’ve always been taught, it’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. If you think in mass shootings, it takes one law abiding citizen to save A LOT of
